Universalist secondary school established in 1831 in Clinton, N.Y., moved to Fort Plain, N.Y., in 1878 and merged with the Fort Plain Academy and Collegiate Institute. In 1891 the school added Military Academy to its name; it was incorporated into St. Lawrence University in 1901 after a fire destroyed the building in Fort Plain. He received a BA from Miami University in 1919, an MA from the University of Cincinnati in 1921, and a ThM from the University of Southern California in 1937 .
